Short answer: epoxy cure time roughly doubles for every 18°F (10°C) colder than the label temperature (usually 75°F). A 24-hour resin takes about 34 h at 66°F and 48 h at 57°F; below about 60°F many resins stay tacky or turn cloudy.
| Room | 24 h label resin |
|---|---|
| 75°F | ~24 h |
| 70°F | ~29 h |
| 65°F | ~35 h |
| 60°F | ~43 h |
| 55°F | ~52 h |
| 50°F | ~63 h |
Very slowly and often poorly: expect soft, cloudy or wavy results. Warm the space to 70–80°F for at least the first 24 hours.
Warm the bottles in warm water before mixing, use a space heater (not aimed at the piece) or a heated tent, and keep the piece off a cold concrete floor.
Move it somewhere warm for 24–48 h. If still tacky, scrape soft spots and recoat.
